At Five Maidens Cider Company, every cider tells a story—one rooted in family, craftsmanship, and a passion for sharing exceptional beverages. What began in 2009 as a simple homebrew experiment quickly blossomed into a pursuit of perfection. With just a starter kit and a few predesigned recipes, Brian and Andrew began crafting beer, refining their techniques over time and earning accolades in homebrew competitions.
A family member’s dietary restrictions eventually inspired a shift—from grains to apples—and a new passion for alcoholic cider took hold. As their recipes evolved, so did the dream of creating something bigger.
The name Five Maidens is layered with meaning. In the orchard world, a maiden is a young fruit tree in its first year—a perfect symbol for a new beginning. But for Brian and Andrew, it’s also personal: between their two families are five children—three sons and two daughters—who inspired not just the name, but the heart of the company. And like any bold first step, this venture is their “maiden” attempt to bring their handcrafted beverages to a wider community.
